Determining which Act applies
On April 1, 2005, the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations Act (FPSLRA) came into force and replaced the Public Service Staff Relations Act (PSSRA). As a result, the Public Service Labour Relations Board (PSLRB) replaced the former Public Service Staff Relations Board.
Certain grievances are still dealt with under the former PSSRA. These are grievances that were presented within the grievor's organization prior to April 1, 2005 that were not finally dealt with by that date.
Grievances presented on or after April 1, 2005 will be dealt with under the FPSLRA.
