Asha M. Kurian
Board member
Asha Kurian is a bilingual Board member with extensive experience in labour relations and employment law, as well as human rights, constitutional, and administrative law.
Ms. Kurian has worked in the public service throughout her legal career. She began as an articling student in the Department of Justice’s Legal Excellence Program and subsequently joined the Department of Justice as counsel. Her Department of Justice experience included advisory and litigation roles at the Treasury Board Secretariat. At the Privy Council Office, she was a member of the Task Force for Modernizing Human Resources.
Appointed as counsel to the Board in 2003, she served as its General Counsel from 2021 to 2025.
Ms. Kurian holds a BSc (Honours) in Statistics and an LLB from Queen’s University. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
